Role Summary

Reporting to the Superintendent at Andersons Creek Golf Club, the Assistant Superintendent will assist in managing the care and maintenance of the golf course property, including the golf course, clubhouse grounds, landscaping, parking lots, cottages, open spaces, and related equipment.

What You’ll Do

- Support Superintendent in managing personnel, providing training and supervision.
- Assist in overseeing planting, fertilizing, and care of turf, plants, and facilities on the golf course.
- Ensure the course is in optimal playing condition through daily inspections.
- Conduct daily grounds work including cutting tees, greens, fairways and maintaining bunkers.
- At times keep accurate work records for department personnel.
- Adhere to regulations for the use, storage, and disposal of chemicals and petroleum products.
- Work within the Island Coastal golf brand with fellow superintendents and turf departments.
- Assist management in developing short and long-range plans for the golf course.
- Oversee course construction and maintenance projects in absence of Superintendent.
- Conduct daily security checks and maintain equipment inventory.
- Assist with snow removal planning and maintenance.
- Make recommendations for capital improvements and purchases.




- Assist in road and roadside maintenance within the club's grounds.
- Coordinate work with external contractors.
- Conduct regular course inspections and recommend improvements in absence of Superintendent.
- Coordinate with Island Coastal managers in equipment sharing as required.
- Adhere and support all safety requirements and quality standards set forth in the PEI Occupational Health and Safety General Regulations, PEI Occupational Health and Safety Act and Island Coastal’s Safety Management System.
- Use your experience to identify health and safety deficiencies, aid in developing solutions, and enforce secure working practices.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

- 2+ years landscape maintenance or related experience required.
- Post-secondary education in turfgrass management or related field preferred.
- Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task while successfully supervising a team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time in various weather conditions.
- Successfully lift up to 50lbs.
- Valid drivers license and own transportation.

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
