Role Overview
Responsible for user testing of the business-application aspects of enhancements to iFast Base, Desktop, Web and other related applications. Ensures that changes to the system conform to business requirements and processes and/or internal and external client expectations.
Role Responsibilities
- Creates UAT test plans, test cases and scenarios that capture client requirements, potential risk items and accurately define expected results and actual results.
- Attends business and technical project meetings.Acquires and clarifies understanding of requirements,
concerns and approach from various teams involved and applies this understanding to the UAT testing strategy.
- Works with internal teams to resolve environment and project issues
- Recognizes improvement opportunities and works with leads/management for implementation.
- Reviews business specification documents, conducts research and gathers pertinent information relevant to the project
- Ensures adequate testing coverage of all business and functional requirements as documented in the release notes and other project artifacts
- Understands and tests business-improvement-related process or set-up changes across the affected applications utilized by the Transfer Agency (iFast Base, Desktop, Web, and other related applications.)
- Identifies and reports clearly documented testing defects
- Monitors progress of issues raised against assigned projects.Escalates and follows-up as appropriate.
- Prompt identification of risk items.Acts to prevent impact by testing and/or timely communication to Manager/Project Team.
- Learns, understands and retains knowledge of applicable business processes and system set-ups for the entire
- Transfer Agency clientele for effective risk-based (negative) testing
- Prepares power point presentations and conducts functionality walkthroughs geared towards a Business Operations audience
- Supports Transfer Agency on ad-hoc testing requests
- Updates UAT reporting spreadsheets for accurate stats and metrics reporting.
Minimum Qualifications
Critical
- Mutual funds and/or segregated funds knowledge and processing skills, preferably on iFAST applications
- Excellent analytical skills
- Resourceful.Finds solutions and answers to resolve issues.
- Highly focused, detail oriented, efficient and independent
- Self-motivated. Shows initiative and takes pride in and commitment to their work
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to coordinate information from various sources and complete assignments within established timeframes and standards (e.g. zero defect target)
- Ability to identify potential business problems
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and facilitate walkthroughs to ensure that business intent is satisfied
Key
- Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel intermediate or better skills
- University degree or College Diploma preferred
Beneficial
- Completion of CSC (Canadian Securities Course) and/or IFIC (Operations Course)
- Prior work experience in software testing, preferably mutual fund recordkeeping systems
- Understanding of the waterfall and agile methodologies of the Software Development life cycle

Salary Range
Pay Range (CAD $): 58,000 - 73,000
The above reflects an industry-benchmarked target compensation range. The salary offered may vary based upon the candidate’s skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business needs.
