Are you a 3rd Year Apprentice looking for a dealership to support you on your way to being a Journeyman Technician?

But you want to work for an employer that actually treats you like a 3rd Year Apprentice, and pays you like a 3rd Year Apprentice without games, or promises that never come to light?

And you want to be able to work on all the stuff you’re qualified and skilled to do, and not have to give it to more senior technicians – just because.

Do you run in these types of problems with your current employer, and want to see a change? Or is it that you don’t get enough support currently, or it takes too long for your current employer to allow you to go back to Apprenticeship school?

If this sounds like you, and you want a change, we might be perfect for each other.

Harris Victoria Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is under exciting new management in our service department, and we are looking for a driven 3rd Year Apprentice Tech to join our team.

This position is an excellent way to grow your career with a high-volume dealership. We provide on-the-job paid training, mentorship from master technicians, and we will pay for your remaining schooling costs to help you on your way to achieve your Journeyman certification.

Our hiring philosophy is “Hire Attitude, Train Skills”. So, if you’re upbeat, have a positive attitude, love to work hard, and do continuous training, we want to invest in you.

Here at Harris Chrysler, we help our 3rd Year Apprentice Technicians grow using training methods that you won’t exactly find anywhere else as robust, such as;

- You’ll be treated and paid like a 3rd Year Apprentice – not as a 2nd Year Apprentice.

- You’ll get to do all the work you’re qualified & trained for – We do our best to limit you on tires and oil changes. Not only is it no fun for you – but we don’t make enough to give it to you. So its in both our best interest to limit you on tires and oil changes.

- We don’t give the work you find on upselling/inspecting vehicles. If you find work that gets upsold to customers, and you’re qualified to do it – you get to do it, and not give it away to another more senior tech.

- You’ll get to learn how to do recalls, diagnosis, software updates and vehicle trim repairs.

- We’ll put you through Chrysler’s tech training right away, so you can do more repairs and new vehicle inspections.

- We’ll pay for your tuition upfront on all your Apprentice school training, and any other training you might need.

- We’ll support you and send you to apprenticeship school as fast as you can finish your minimum hours before going back to school. There is no delay, or black-out dates.

- When we send you to school, you have a job when you get back, where you just continue you where you left off – but you get a huge wage increase right away upon passing your apprentice level.

- We’ll send you to school as soon as we can, without having to wait for another tech to return. As fast as we can move you towards a journeyman, we are.

- We’ll have you working with other techs to help get your skill level up.

- We’ll teach you how to work at dealership-level standards, and be best in class. Something you’ll see you peers in your apprentice class my envy you for.

- On Day 1 – we’ll give you health benefits. No waiting for 3 months like every other employer.

- We have a formal and public wage scale that apprentices get to see and follow. Once you become a 3rd Year Apprentice, you’ll get $33.60 per hour on day 1. As a 4th year, you’ll get $37.80. All they way up to $53.00 per hour as a Journeyman, where you can decide if you want to be a specialist and get specialty training, like a Diesel Tech, or a Transmission, or Diagnosis and Electrical Technician. Your path is up to you.

- You have access to stackable skill and production bonuses that are not available to 2nd Year Apprentices and lower.

- You’ll work in a massive and modern 4-year-old automotive repair facility. Not ratty workspace, or trashy equipment.

We have a high volume used vehicle department, seeing on average 120 used vehicles. When a used vehicle is inspected by a dedicated Journeyman Inspector, the work he finds, and the sales dept approves, the approved work gets dispersed back into the shop, where technicians like you, as a 3rd Year and higher get to work on brake, steering, suspension, alignments, engine work, and driveline work. So, you’re never out of good work.

To get even more hours, we have a full-functioning Outbound and Inbound Service Business Development team who help grow the retail side of business,

along with the support of the Marketing team.

Along side of our high-growth retail side with customers coming in our Service Drive, we have several programs that help techs make a ton of hours – or gravy as you know it.

From an in-house dedicated Service Business Development Selling team that pre-sells all the Service Interval Guides that are from the OEM, a robust Fluid Exchange program we sell from on every appointment set, to 2 in-floor automated alignment machines in the Service Drive, 2 alignment hoists, to active follow up on every Declined Service/Declined Repair that a tech recommends, but the customer decided not to get done this visit.

Normally the Declined Services equates to more than double the amount of retail sales we’d typically see/sell in any one month. Meaning – it’s lots of work that we recover to get back in your bay for flat rate hours.

We have a dedicated outbound marketing and business development team that both gets recent customers, vehicles never serviced here, including off-make, to recovering long-lost customers.

Through these teams, we run 50% off Oil Changes to recover lost customers or to get a new vin number in our shop. Our dedicated Lube & Tire Techs handle that work, but they are trained to do robust inspections and upsells that beyond light-weight 1st year Apprentice work, gets dispatched into the general technician population. Meaning – more retail gravy, which is always fluid exchanges, brake, steering, and suspension.

If you’re looking to work in a dealership, with an employer that farms their own Journeyman technicians, and actually has a clear, and formal roadmap that accelerates you from 3rd Year Apprentice to Journeyman, you’ll want to apply with us here at Harris Chrysler.
