The NSCSC is currently looking for a great communicator to fill the role of Office Coordinator – someone who is energetic, friendly, and enjoys working with a wide variety of partners from youth to industry professionals. As the Office Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for the public and be responsible for a wide variety of office and clerical duties that are integral to day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Reception duties - answer and direct phone calls, receive faxes and greet clients/suppliers/visitors to the organization in a professional and friendly manner
- Review, screen, sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
- Schedule, coordinate, organize, and host meetings and facility bookings
- Perform and/or assist with office activities such as cleaning, maintenance, ordering materials and supplies etc.
- Order, receive, handle and stage meals from various caterers and ensure items are prepared for meetings and events
- Maintain, track and update office equipment including hardware, software, and passwords
- Assist with activities related to visits to the Trades Exhibition Hall including food service, clean-up and student supervision
- Serve as contact for office maintenance, service contracts, etc., with providers and arrange for necessary repairs/service calls for office systems
- Run errands, as required, in support of the operation of the Sector Council
- Assist in the development of office documents (proposals, publications, claims, research, etc.) and maintain office data (records, logs, contacts, etc.) in an organized manner as needed
- Ensure timely distribution of materials to industry partners
- Assist with the follow-up of action items arising from office and industry meetings
- Scan media/news for industry relevant information




- Research, propose and develop solutions to office needs and improvements
- Other duties as required

The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics/qualifications:

- Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal) and be customer service oriented
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail
- Possesses excellent problem-solving skills and proactively takes initiative
- Ability to work independently and in teams in a fast-paced result-oriented fluid environment
- Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point and Access)
- Ability to develop strong industry relationships
- Related education and/or experience in a similar position
- Valid driver’s license and own transportation

Please identify additional skills and experiences, including (but not limited to): bookkeeping/accounting, education, graphic design and production, training, projects, etc., as they will be considered an asset.

Work Environment

Primarily a small office setting.

This position will be required to complete a criminal record and child abuse registry check. Individuals must be able to meet physical demands as required, including (but not limited to): lifting, pushing, pulling of approximately 50 lbs., bending, standing and walking for extended periods.

Hours of Work

Full-time hours – typically 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Monday to Friday)

Occasional early morning, evening and weekend work may be required.

Remuneration

Based on experience and education.

$24.00 - $28.00 / hr.
