We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team of educators.

You will be responsible for teaching groups of students with varying exceptionalities. You will modify existing curriculum on basic subjects (e.g. math, language, science, etc.) to meet each student’s learning requirements and build individual lesson plans tailored to their specific needs. You will work in collaboration with various professionals and the families of our students to ensure equity and optimal success for all.

Ultimately, you will help and inspire children to achieve important learning milestones.

Responsibilities:

- Assess students’ abilities and differentiate teaching to meet the evolving needs of our students.
- Adapt learning materials to students’ needs.
- Keep track of and reflect on students’ progress.
- Monitor children’s behavioral patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if needed.
- Find engaging hands-on activities to teach skills.
- Demonstrate strong classroom management skills and set workplace up for success.
- On-going communication with parents.




- Collaborate with the support staff (e.g. instructor therapists, educational assistants, and BCBA/SENIOR THERAPIST) to create holistic intervention plans.
- Education and Experience:

- Required: BEd and/or related bachelor's degree. Master's in Education or related fields is an asset.
- Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role.
- Familiar with and aware of how to implement the Ontario Curriculum.
- Knowledge of how to modify and/or develop accommodations to the curriculum to meet the needs of our students.
- Good knowledge of current special education topics and methodologies.
- Experience working with children with a wide range of exceptionalities.
- Ability to create comprehensive IEPs.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
