Part-Time Kitchen Staff/Cook

Murasaki Japanese Restaurant is looking for part-time staff to support our kitchen.

We are a local Japanese restaurant in Port Moody’s Newport Village, serving sushi, Japanese grill, tempura, and West Coast–style Japanese cuisine since 2012. We are looking for someone reliable and collaborative who would like to grow with our kitchen team.

This position will mainly focus on supporting our tempura and appetizer station, while also supporting other kitchen tasks as needed during service.

Kitchen experience is an asset, but direct experience is not required. We are happy to train the right person.

We are preferably looking for a person who commutes within the Tri-Cities

- A highly collaborative attitude with the kitchen and sushi team
- Passion for food, cooking, and Japanese cuisine
- Good work ethic, responsibility, and willingness to learn
- Ability to stay calm, organized, and focused during busy service times
- Ability to multitask, prioritize orders, and support smooth kitchen operations
- Part-time availability

Duties

- Prepare tempura, appetizers, and other hot kitchen items according to our recipes and standards
- Support the main cooks and sushi chefs with kitchen coordination during service




- Help keep your station and the kitchen clean, organized, and ready for service
- Assist with general kitchen tasks, including prep, cleaning, dishwashing, and closing duties
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards
- Work closely with the team to keep the kitchen running smoothly, especially during busy hours
