Your Role as a Support Worker

As a Support Worker, you will support people with intellectual disabilities in their homes and communities. You will help promote independence, choice, dignity, safety, and quality of life.

We are looking for employees who can do more than complete assigned tasks. Strong Support Workers use good judgment, solve problems appropriately, advocate for the people they support, and work collaboratively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide personal care, including grooming, dressing, bathing, toileting, mobility support, and other daily living needs.
- Support medication routines in accordance with policy, training, and direction.
- Assist with household tasks and meal preparation.
- Support participation in home and community-based activities based on the person's interests and goals.
- Advocate for the needs, choices, rights, dignity, and well-being of the people supported.
- Recognize concerns or changing needs and take appropriate action or seek guidance when required.
- Work cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors, families, and the broader support team.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely documentation.
- Communicate important information, concerns, and changes promptly.

Required Qualifications

- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Valid Manitoba Class 5F Driver’s Licence.
- Access to a reliable vehicle for use during all assigned shifts.
- Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, completed within the last six months.




- Adult Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check, completed within the last six months.
- Current Driver’s Abstract.

Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities is an asset but is not required. Training will be provided to applicants who demonstrate the right attitude, reliability, judgment, and commitment to ethical care.

Work Location and Schedule

This position has a primary assigned location. Employees may occasionally be required to support another Family Visions Inc. locations or assignment based on operational and individual support needs.

Applicants must be able to work their assigned schedule and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5F Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle throughout employment.

Pay: $17.83-$19.88 per hour
