Job Overview

We re seeking a licensed Dental Hygienist to join our team providing professional dental hygiene services at federal correctional institutions in Ontario. This role focuses on intake dental screenings, preventative oral health care, and health promotion within a structured, team-based clinical environment. This position offers a change from your typical dental practice while making a positive impact on patients’ health.

Responsibilities

- Conduct intake dental hygiene assessments for newly admitted offenders
- Perform the full Dental Hygiene Process of Care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Provide optional preventative dental hygiene services including scaling, polishing, fluoride application, and oral health education
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and disease prevention
- Maintain accurate documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
- Collaborate with dentists, dental assistants, and other healthcare professionals




- Follow provincial regulations, professional standards, and institutional policies
- Work respectfully with individuals from diverse cultural, linguistic, and social backgrounds
- Comply with all institutional security protocols and health regulations

Requirements

- Registered Dental Hygienist in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO)
- Ability to obtain Reliability Status security clearance
- Up-to-date immunizations; tuberculosis (TB) testing may be required
- Strong professional judgment, adaptability, and communication skills
- Comfort working in a correctional healthcare workplace
- Experience in public health, community dentistry, or institutional settings is an asset.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: Up to $65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 – 12 per week
