About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, driven, and collaborative Articling Student to join our team. At Paramount Law Group, you won’t just be organizing binders or running errands; you will engage in meaningful, hands-on legal work from day one. Under the guidance of our experienced lawyers, you will gain exposure to diverse practice areas, develop your advocacy skills, and build a strong foundation for a successful legal career.

What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)

In this role, you will work closely with our partners and associates to build your practical skills. On any given day, you will:

- Conduct in-depth legal research and draft key documents, including pleadings, legal memoranda, contracts, wills, and corporate filings.
- Support our litigation team in preparing for trials, chambers applications, mediations, and hearings, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at case strategy.
- Appear in court and before tribunals on appropriate chambers applications, building your confidence as an advocate as permitted by the Law Society of Alberta.
- Engage directly with clients during consultations to take detailed instructions and help maintain strong,



empathetic relationships.
- Master the mechanics of file management by learning how to run a legal file from initial intake all the way to final resolution.

What You Bring (Candidate Qualifications)

We are looking for an eager, curious learner who is ready to jump in and contribute. You are an ideal fit if you:

- Hold a JD, LLB, or NCA equivalent, demonstrating a robust academic foundation in law.
- Are ready to register as an Articling Student with the Law Society of Alberta and enroll in the Practice Readiness Education Program (PREP).
- Bring sharp research and writing skills paired with a keen eye for detail and analytical thinking.
- Communicate clearly and empathetically, making it easy for you to collaborate with colleagues and connect with clients.
- Adapt easily to changing priorities, comfortably managing multiple tasks both independently and as part of a team.
- Offer fluency in a second language such as Mandarin or Spanish, which is a fantastic bonus to help us support our diverse client base.
