About the Role

We are a moving company seeking a dependable, handy individual to assist us on a strictly casual, as-needed basis. This is not a full-time, part-time, or seasonal position.

Work volume is light and unpredictable. Some months there may be zero calls; during occasional busier stretches, hours might range between 2 to 8 hours in a week. This role is a great fit for a retired handyman or hobbyist who wants to keep their tools sharp, earn extra cash, and tackle straightforward repair projects without committing to a structured schedule or heavy workload.

Responsibilities

- Damage Assessments: Inspect minor damage reported by clients (e.g., floor scratches, wall dents) to help us estimate repair costs for claim processing.
- Minor Client Repairs: Perform small touch-up jobs at customer locations resulting from moves, including:
- Touch-up painting and drywall patch-ups.
- Fixing minor scratches on wood, vinyl, laminate, or plank flooring.
- Small cabinet or hardware adjustments.
- Wood Furniture Repair (High Value Asset): Touch up or repair surface scratches, nicks,



and minor structural wear on wooden furniture (tables, desks, dressers, frames).
- Facility Maintenance (Occasional): Assist with basic upkeep, light repairs, or minor fixture/equipment installations at our office or warehouse as needed.
- Client Interaction: Represent the company professionally and politely when visiting client homes for estimates or touch-ups.

Qualifications & Skills

- Practical hands-on experience in general maintenance, carpentry, or home repairs.
- Solid skills in wood furniture touch-ups, drywall patch-up, and flooring scratch repairs are strongly preferred.
- Basic understanding of plumbing or minor appliance setup is a bonus, but not required.
- Clear communication skills and a friendly, respectful approach with clients.
- Ability to work independently with basic trade tools.

Pay: $16.66-$33.24 per hour
