About the role:

Reporting to the Manager of Surgical Services, you will beresponsible for providing quality nursing care to a patient population with predictable outcomes. As part of amultidisciplinary health care team, you will practice within the
Professional Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario, thePhilosophy of patient and family centered care,
mission vision, values and the policies of Thunder BayRegional Health Sciences Centre.
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
- Current unrestricted registration as a Registered PracticalNurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario, or the ability to become licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current certification in BCLS
- Recent experience in Surgical Nursing with experience caringfor pre and postoperative surgical patients with TPN,
- Ability to use the Nursing Process (assessment, planning,implementation, evaluation) in conjunction with her/his basic and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized careplanning and delivery
- Collaborates with Registered Nurse's when patients assigned tothe Registered Practical Nurse become unstable or have outcomes that are not as expected
- Identify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responsesand take appropriate action
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple nursing interventions
- Strong interprofessional and communication skills
Salary Range: $38.011 to 39.019
