About the role:

The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patientsand families. Applicantsare required to have a demonstrated knowledge, understanding and commitment to this care philosophy.

Reporting to the Manager of Labour & Delivery and MaternalNewborn, you will be responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients including complex patient populations whose outcomes are not predictable. As part of a multidisciplinary health care team, you will practice within theProfessional Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Philosophy of patient and family centered care,mission vision, Values and the policies of Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Applicants must have the following qualification:

- Current unencumbered registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario, or the ability to become licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current certification in BCLS
- Recent experience in Maternity and Perinatal nursing withexperience in breastfeeding support and the care of
- Ability to use the Nursing Process (assessment, planning,implementation, evaluation) in conjunction with her/his basic and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized careplanning and delivery
- Collaborates and provides consult to Registered PracticeNurse's (RPN) when patients assigned to the RPN become unstable or have outcomes that are not as expected
- Identify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responsesand take appropriate action
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple nursing interventions
- Strong interprofessional and communication skills
- Central Venous Line Management





In addition to the above qualifications, preference will be givento applicants who:
- Have certification or recent continuing education in FetalHealth Surveillance, lactation support, perinatal or high
- Certification from a formal Perioperative Nursing Course ordemonstrated continuing education in Perioperative Nursing

Salary Range: $41.150 to 58.980
