Role Summary

Working with executive finance leadership, the Accounting Manager will serve as the primary operational review checkpoint for the organization’s corporate finance function during an 18-month maternity leave contract. This position is responsible for ensuring financial statement compliance, data accuracy, and internal controls across divisional workflows.

A key requirement of this role is the review, formalization, and enforcement of accounting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). While operating as an individual contributor during the initial term, this position requires leadership capability.

Key Responsibilities

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & Internal Controls

- Partner across dealership departments and personnel to review, formalize,



and document accounting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Lead the evaluation and refinement of operational accounting workflows to support audit readiness, internal controls, and compliance.
- Apply public practice/audit methodologies to evaluate internal controls across financial processes.

Financial Statement Review & Month-End Execution

- Review divisional financial statements compiled by the accounting team for compliance, logical consistency, and accuracy.
- Conduct monthly reviews of management reporting packages prior to executive submission.
- Prepare and post month-end general journal entries, accruals, and transactional adjustments.
- Perform month-end payroll accruals for non-posted pay periods and reconcile payroll deduction balance sheet accounts.
