Pay: $22.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on apprenticeship level and experience

Cowichan Valley Volkswagen is preparing to open a brand-recent Volkswagen dealership in Duncan, BC, and we are looking for a motivated Apprentice Automotive Service Technician to join our growing team.

Cowichan Valley Volkswagen is part of the same family ownership group as Harbourview Volkswagen in Nanaimo, a locally owned and operated dealership serving Vancouver Island since 1983. This is an excellent opportunity for an automotive apprentice who wants to develop their skills, receive ongoing manufacturer training, and build a long-term career with the Volkswagen brand. You will work alongside experienced technicians in a supportive environment where quality workmanship, teamwork, and customer care are valued.

Job Duties The successful candidate will assist with and perform:

- Vehicle maintenance and repairs according to manufacturer specifications
- Oil changes, inspections, tire services, brakes, and general mechanical repairs
- Diagnostic testing under the guidance of licensed technicians
- Identification and reporting of additional maintenance or repair requirements
- Proper use of diagnostic equipment, tools, and shop equipment
- Accurate completion of repair orders and service documentation
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Working effectively with technicians, service advisors, and the Fixed Operations team
- Participating in Volkswagen technical training and apprenticeship development
- Other related duties as assigned

What We Are Looking For

- Currently registered, or eligible to register, as an Automotive Service Technician apprentice in British Columbia




- Completion of an automotive foundation program would be considered an asset
- Valid Class 5 British Columbia driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Basic understanding of vehicle electronics and computer systems
- Willingness to learn and accept coaching
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work well as part of a team
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
- Good attention to detail
- Commitment to safe and professional work practices

Previous Volkswagen, European vehicle, dealership, or automotive shop experience would be considered an asset, but is not required.

Schedule

- Eight-hour shifts
- Monday to Friday

Ability to Commute or Relocate Duncan, BC: Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.

Licence and Certification

- Class 5 driver’s licence required
- Registered automotive apprenticeship preferred

Work Location In person at Cowichan Valley Volkswagen in Duncan, BC.
