We are seeking a conscientious, career-minded Entry Level Heavy-Duty Technician Apprentice for our NORTH NISKU location. This position will allow for you to learn the business from the ground up while receiving paid training. Prior mechanical experience, automotive, equipment operation, detailing, are all beneficial skills. Most importantly a good attitude is key!

You will learn and assist in performing day to day tasks associated with repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on various types telehandler, man lifts, scissor lifts and other types of aerial work platforms.

Role and Responsibilities

- Equipment washing
- Yard responsibilities
- Decal removal
- Identify defects in heavy duty equipment
- Pressure washing, removal and application of decals, and sanding or painting as required.
- Assist in mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when required
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance
- Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
- Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliance's
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
- Other mechanical or yard organizational work as required

Requirements

- First or second level of either Heavy Equipment technical training considered an asset, but not required.
- Possess a valid driver’s license




- Ability to work independently in a busy environment
- Ability to carry out work assignments given to you in a timely manner
- Highly versatile, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Able to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times

Work Conditions

- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- PPE required at all times
- Overtime as required
- Hazards associated with the trade
- Work both indoors and outdoors
- May be exposed to construction sites
