Toronto

We are seeking an experienced AV Operator to support live events, broadcast environments, studio operations, and integrated AV systems. This role combines hands-on technical work with live system operation, client interaction, and problem-solving in fast-paced environments.

You will work across studios, event venues, hotels, and client sites to help deliver smooth, professional productions. This position is ideal for someone who is technically capable, adaptable, and comfortable contributing to all stages of production — from setup through strike.

Important: While this role includes operating audiovisual systems during events, operators are not booked exclusively for operating only. Team members are expected to actively participate in equipment setup and dismantle, in accordance with supervisor instructions, as part of the overall production workflow.

Because this is a client-facing role, technicians are expected to present themselves professionally at all times, maintain a clean and appropriate appearance, and communicate clearly and respectfully with clients, presenters, and event staff.

What You'll Be Doing

AV Setup, Operation & Breakdown

- Set up, operate, and dismantle audiovisual equipment for live events, broadcasts, recordings, and installations
- Operate audio consoles, video switchers, cameras, projectors, LED displays, microphones, and control systems, including IT and network integration.

Live Production & Event Support

- Provide real-time technical support during live events, broadcasts, presentations, and performances
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly to maintain smooth productions
- Adapt to routing changes, equipment reconfiguration, and evolving show requirements

Installation & Technical Integration
- Assist with wiring, installation, and termination of AV and control systems
- Build, test, and configure equipment racks on-site.
- Follow technical drawings, plots, and floorplans to ensure accurate installations

Team & Client Interaction
- Coordinate and support small teams of technicians when required
- Act as a technical point of contact for clients, presenters, producers, and event staff
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Maintenance & Documentation
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and equipment checks
- Track equipment usage and report issues as required

Complete site reports, documentation, and updates to support long-term system reliability
