Affinity Accountants LLP is a full-service public accounting firm located in Surrey, BC. We provide accounting, tax, assurance, and advisory services to privately held businesses across a wide range of industries.

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. This position will be responsible for providing ongoing bookkeeping and related accounting support to multiple clients of the firm.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, is highly organized, and is comfortable managing multiple client files and deadlines at the same time.

Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, with responsibilities including:

- Maintain complete and accurate bookkeeping records for multiple corporate clients
- Record and categorize day-to-day financial transactions
- Perform monthly and quarterly bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and Sage.
- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations
- Reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Record payroll transactions and reconcile payroll accounts
- Prepare and assist with GST/HST and PST returns
- Assist with payroll remittances and other government filings
- Record adjusting entries, accruals, prepaid expenses and other month-end entries
- Maintain continuity schedules for balance sheet accounts
- Identify missing information, unusual transactions and bookkeeping discrepancies
- Communicate directly with clients to obtain records and resolve bookkeeping questions




- Maintain organized electronic client files and supporting documentation
- Prepare bookkeeping files for year-end and work with the firm's accountants to ensure files are complete and ready for financial statement and corporate tax preparation
- Assist with other accounting and administrative duties as required

Qualifications We are looking for someone with:

- 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and Sage.
- Experience completing bank and credit card reconciliations
- Experience with GST/HST, PST and payroll-related bookkeeping
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles, including debits and credits
- Ability to identify and correct bookkeeping errors
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple client files and competing deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team

Preferred Experience Preference will be given to candidates who have:

- Previous experience working in a public accounting or bookkeeping firm
- Experience managing bookkeeping for multiple clients simultaneously




- Experience with businesses across different industries
- Experience preparing bookkeeping files for accountants and year-end engagements
- Familiarity with CRA payroll, GST/HST and other compliance requirements
- Experience with QuickBooks Online Accountant

What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership of their client files rather than simply entering transactions. You should be comfortable reviewing a set of books, recognizing when something does not look right, investigating discrepancies, and communicating with the client or accountant to resolve the issue.

Because you will be responsible for numerous clients, the ability to stay organized, track outstanding information and meet recurring monthly and quarterly deadlines is extremely important.

Work Arrangement This is an in-office position at our Surrey, BC office.

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
