We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Senior Bookkeeper to join our team in a full-time capacity. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions for multiple companies operating under one ownership group.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on bookkeeping/accounting experience and must be highly proficient with QuickBooks Online (QBO). We are looking for someone who understands the full accounting cycle, can work independently, maintain accurate financial records, meet government filing deadlines, and ensure our companies' books are current and properly reconciled.

This is a Monday to Friday, full-time position.

Key Responsibilities The Senior Bookkeeper will be responsible for the bookkeeping and accounting functions of multiple companies, including:

- Managing the day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple companies and maintaining separate, accurate financial records for each entity
- Maintaining and reviewing the general ledger and chart of accounts
- Recording and categorizing transactions accurately in QuickBooks Online
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Performing bank and credit card reconciliations
- Reviewing accounts regularly and identifying discrepancies, duplicate transactions, incorrect postings, or unusual balances
- Preparing and posting journal entries and adjusting entries as required
- Maintaining accurate asset, liability, loan, shareholder and intercompany accounts
- Recording and reconciling transactions between related companies




- Preparing and filing HST returns and ensuring remittances are completed accurately and on time
- Preparing, reconciling and remitting payroll source deductions and other payroll-related taxes/remittances
- Reconciling payroll records to the general ledger
- Assisting with T4s, ROEs and year-end payroll requirements
- Maintaining accurate records for WSIB and other applicable government remittances
- Preparing financial information and working papers for month-end and year-end
- Preparing financial reports, including Profit & Loss Statements and Balance Sheets
- Reviewing financial statements for accuracy and investigating discrepancies
- Maintaining organized supporting documentation for transactions and adjusting entries
- Preparing information required for corporate tax filings and working closely with external accountants
- Recording year-end adjusting entries provided by external accountants
- Ensuring prior accounting periods and completed year-ends are not changed without proper authorization and documentation
- Maintaining accurate records for CRA reporting and responding to accounting information requests as required
- Monitoring filing and remittance deadlines across all companies
- Assisting management with financial reporting,



cash-flow information, budgeting and other accounting-related requests
- Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls and record keeping

Qualifications & Experience The successful candidate must have:
- Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Advanced working knowledge of QuickBooks Online
- Demonstrated experience managing the books for multiple companies or legal entities simultaneously
- Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle
- Hands-on experience preparing and filing HST returns
- Experience with payroll, source deductions and CRA remittances
- Experience preparing accounting records and working papers for corporate tax and year-end filings
- Strong knowledge of bank, credit card, payroll, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
- Experience with intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Strong understanding of Canadian bookkeeping and accounting practices
- Robust Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify accounting discrepancies
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple companies, deadlines and competing priorities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- High level of discretion when handling confidential payroll, employee and financial information

Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
