We are seeking an ambitious and entrepreneurial Branch Manager to establish and grow our Fredericton office. Candidates with environmental, civil, geotechnical, hydrogeological, or multidisciplinary consulting experience are encouraged to apply. The role will involve supporting and collaborating with our existing teams in Moncton and Saint John, New Brunswick, as well as Halifax and Sydney, Nova Scotia. QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will possess:
A degree in engineering (civil, geological, environmental, mechanical, chemical, or related discipline) or geoscience from a Canadian-accredited university.
A Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) designation, or eligibility for registration with APEGNB, Engineers Nova Scotia, or an equivalent professional association.
8+ years of progressive consulting experience, including project management, client engagement, and team leadership responsibilities.
Experience working within environmental consulting, civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, hydrogeology, land development, and/or related fields.
A valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout Atlantic Canada as required. WHAT YOU'LL BRING The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Strong leadership skills and a desire to grow and develop a regional consulting practice.
Proven business development experience, including client relationship management, proposal preparation, and identification of new opportunities.
Excellent project management abilities, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource management.
Strong technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
The ability to mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative team environment.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
A practical, solutions-oriented approach to consulting and client service.
The confidence to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Experience with environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and assessment standards within Atlantic Canada.
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be considered an asset:
Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I, II, and III)
Contaminated site remediation and risk assessment
Civil infrastructure and land development projects
Geotechnical engineering
Hydrogeology and groundwater investigations
Environmental Impact Assessment
Hazardous Building Materials Assessments
Construction inspection and monitoring
GIS, CAD, Microsoft Suite, TabLogs, or similar technical software RESPONSIBILITIES
As Branch Manager, you will be responsible for both technical project delivery and the strategic growth of Hive's Fredericton operations.
Key responsibilities include: Business Development & Growth
Lead the development and expansion of Hive's Fredericton office.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities throughout New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry partners, regulators, and stakeholders.
Collaborate with Hive leadership to develop and execute strategic growth initiatives.
Support proposal preparation, fee development, marketing efforts, and client pursuits. Leadership & Team Development
Recruit, mentor, and develop technical staff.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance workplace culture.
Provide technical guidance and quality control reviews for project deliverables.
Support staff development and professional growth.
Project
Delivery
Manage and oversee environmental, civil, geotechnical, hydrogeological, and related consulting projects.
Lead the preparation and review of technical reports, proposals, budgets, and work plans.
Coordinate field programs involving soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, vapour, and hazardous materials investigations.
Analyze environmental and engineering data and develop practical recommendations for clients.
Liaise with subcontractors, regulators, clients, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
Provide clients with strategic guidance regarding regulatory requirements, permitting processes, and project risks.

Leadership
Support branch planning, resource allocation, and project forecasting.
Work with senior leadership to achieve growth, utilization, and profitability objectives.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Annual salary of $110,000-$150,000+, depending on qualifications and experience
