Position Overview

We're seeking a part-time Cafe Team Member to join our small but mighty team! You'll start on the cafe side — greeting guests, making drinks, and keeping the shop running beautifully — with the opportunity to grow into kitchen and cake decorating work as you build skills with us.

This is a real growth role. We train from the front counter back, so the person who thrives here is someone who wants to learn the whole business — not just clock in and out. If baking and decorating are where you eventually want to be, this is how you get there.

What you’ll do:

- Welcome guests, take orders, run POS, and provide exceptional customer service
- Prep and serve cafe drinks
- Package baked goods and help keep the display stocked and tidy
- Support light kitchen tasks and basic food prep as needed
- Keep the café guest-ready at all times (clean-as-you-go: counters, dishes, floors, washrooms, restocks)
- Help with occasional events/workshops (set up, reset, hosting support)
- Complete day-to-day operations without being told

​What you'll grow into (as you're ready):

- Baking and prep work — mixing, scaling, and baking off cakes, cupcakes, and cookies
- Decorating fundamentals — crumb coating, icing, piping, and finishing touches
- Prepping decorating components like buttercream, cake pops, and toppers
- Supporting custom cake production during our busiest weeks

Qualifications:

- 1–2 years of customer service experience (cafe, retail, or food service preferred)
- Genuine interest in coffee, baking, and/or hospitality (experience is a bonus but not required — we'll train the right person!)
- Strong multitasking skills and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced setting!
- Attention to detail — in this business, the little things ARE the big things
- Team player with a positive, can-do attitude!
- Exceptional communication skills




- Comfortable on your feet and working with your hands for a full shift
- Food Handler Certification is an asset (or willingness to get certified — we'll help!)
- Flexible schedule, a more concrete schedule will be developed once we get a sense of what works best for all of us!

- You only want to bake and aren't interested in serving guests (the cafe side comes first here)
- You need a fully fixed schedule from day one
