Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support to promote independence and dignity
- Provide patient care including medication administration, wound care, and monitoring vital signs under supervision or as trained
- Support seniors and individuals with disabilities through companionship, emotional support, and engaging activities
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a protected environment to ensure comfort and hygiene
- Assist with transfers and heavy lifting using proper techniques to prevent injury for both clients and caregivers
- Document care provided accurately in client records and communicate any changes or concerns to healthcare teams
Experience
- Prior experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings is highly valued
- Demonstrated experience in patient care, including medication administration and dementia or hospice care
- Familiarity with caregiving tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and mobility support
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy lifting and infection control standards
- Experience working with diverse populations requiring specialized care such as dementia or hospice patients is a plus
