We are seeking Carpenters and Carpenter Labourers to join our Bridges Business Unit for a bridge project in Moose Jaw, SK starting in July. Candidates must be able to commute to and from the worksite.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Bridges Supervisor, Carpenters support bridge construction activities and play a key role on the crew.
- Responsibilities include building and installing wooden or metal concrete forms for structures such as piers, retaining walls, abutments, columns, and bridge decks;
- cutting and assembling formwork from blueprints;
- erecting and securing forms;
- installing ties and anchors;
- and building temporary structures like scaffolding and safety railings;
- Duties also include handling form panels,
setting rails, assisting with concrete pours (vibrating, shoveling, raking), supporting finishers, and performing basic rebar tying;
- Ability to read and follow blueprints is required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years construction experience (heavy civil/industrial/commercial preferred)
- Journeyman or Apprentice Carpenter certification is an asset
- First Aid and Fall Protection training considered an asset
- Physically fit and able to perform demanding work for extended periods
- Comfortable working at heights and in challenging weather conditions
- Robust teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions
- Valid Class 5 drivers license and reliable transportation required
