Civil Draftsperson

With a reputation for innovation, sustainability, and technical excellence, we’re seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Design Draftsperon to join our growing team.

Opportunity The Civil Draftsperson will play a key role in supporting the planning and execution of land development projects. This position bridges drafting, and project coordination, ensuring that concepts are translated into accurate, buildable plans that align with regulatory requirements and construction realities.

Working closely with engineers, project managers, and construction teams, you will contribute across multiple project phases, from early design through permitting and construction.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare site plans, grading, and servicing drawings for residential and commercial developments
- Translate conceptual layouts and markups into detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Revise and update drawings based on design changes, field conditions, and coordination feedback
- Support land development design, including lot layouts, roadworks, and infrastructure planning
- Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely deliverables
- Assist in the preparation of permit submission packages and construction documentation
- Ensure compliance with municipal standards, zoning requirements, and applicable codes




- Maintain organized digital files and drawing records across active projects
- Participate in occasional site visits to support design coordination and project execution

Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience in civil design, drafting, or land development projects
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D experience preferred)
- Solid understanding of site grading, servicing, and development layouts
- Familiarity with HRM municipal standards and construction practices
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to interpret and coordinate engineering and construction drawings
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Exposure to water, wastewater, or stormwater systems considered an asset

Work Setting

- Primarily office-based with a collaborative project team
- Occasional site visits to support coordination and field alignment
- Fast-paced environment with a variety of active development projects
