POSITION DESCRIPTION

Title: Cook The Cook is responsible for completing all assigned prep work and properly setting up the cook’s station. This role ensures the consistent quality of product presentation, taste, and cook times, in accordance with Applebee’s standards. All food must be prepared following approved recipes, plate presentations, and operational specifications.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

- Food Preparation (50%): Prepare all menu items in accordance with Applebee’s recipes, portion guidelines, plate presentations, and quality specifications.
- Prep Work (15%): Complete all assigned food preparation tasks, including slicing, dicing, marinating, mixing, and labeling of ingredients.
- Workstation Setup (15%): Set up the workstation following the station layout diagram, ensuring all tools, ingredients, and utensils are stocked and ready for service.
- Food Safety and Sanitation (10%): Consistently follow food safety protocols and sanitary food handling practices throughout the shift.
- Cleaning and Maintenance (5%): Clean and sanitize the workstation and cooking equipment before, during, and after each shift.
- Ongoing Cleaning Projects (5%): Complete assigned hourly, daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Qualification Standards:

- Must be able to place plates, utensils, pans, and cases on high and low shelves.
- Basic reading, writing,



and verbal communication skills are required to follow recipes and instructions.
- Proficient in using knives, slicing equipment, grills, ovens, and other commercial kitchen tools.
- Must have mobility and stamina to stand and move throughout the kitchen for the entire shift.
- Ability to transport and lift cases or containers weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to respond quickly and safely to emergencies to prevent harm to self or others.

Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to communicate with coworkers and team members.
- Must be capable of standing and working in a fast-paced environment for up to six (6) hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift pots, pans, containers, and food products weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Must possess hand and finger dexterity necessary for handling cooking tools and small equipment.

Additional Details:

- Pay: Starting from CAD $16.00 per hour + Tip share.
- Discounted food for employees.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including mornings and late evenings, based on business needs.
- Availability on weekends and holidays is expected.
- Both full and part time positions available.
- Cooking experience preferred but not mandatory.
