Some reporting roles ask you to maintain what already exists. This one asks you to transform it.
Reporting to the VP Finance, this Director-level chance is for a financial reporting leader who wants more than a steady-state mandate. The role offers meaningful autonomy to bring structure, discipline and momentum to a Finance function in transformation, while strengthening public company reporting and elevating technical accounting capability.
The successful candidate will bring experience from strong reporting environments and the confidence to apply that perspective in a setting where processes, standards and team capability can still be shaped. For a leader energized by complexity, this is an opportunity to build something better and create lasting impact.
The Opportunity A visible Director-level mandate for a financial reporting leader who wants to combine public company rigor, technical accounting depth, process improvement and people leadership. This is an opportunity to shape how the function operates, develop the team and create the structure needed for a more confident, scalable and effective Finance organization.
What You'll Own
- Lead quarterly and annual public company reporting: external financial statements, disclosures, and review processes under IFRS.
- Act as technical accounting advisor for the Finance organization — interpreting, documenting, and applying IFRS guidance with practical judgment, including potential US GAAP considerations.
- Prepare and review technical accounting memos on complex, judgmental matters (goodwill, impairment, significant estimates) for auditors and senior stakeholders.
- Support accounting for M&A;, integration, and divestiture activity as it arises.
- Partner directly with external auditors, ensuring issues are well-prepared, well-documented, and resolved credibly.
- Drive continuous improvement in reporting processes, controls, documentation, and review standards.
- Lead, coach, and grow a team — including a planned Senior Manager, Technical Accounting hire.
- Build trusted relationships across Finance, Tax, and senior/C-suite stakeholders.
What You Bring
- CPA/CA designation, ideally grounded in public accounting.
- Progressive public company financial reporting experience — you've owned a reporting process end to end.
- Strong IFRS technical accounting and public company reporting experience, including confidence supporting a potential US GAAP conversion
- Demonstrated technical accounting depth: writing/reviewing memos on complex, non-routine matters.
- M&A-related; accounting exposure is a strong asset.
- A track record of process improvement in environments still being built or refined.
- Proven people leadership — coaching, performance management, development.
- Comfort with ambiguity, fast pace, and change.
How You Lead
- You own the details without losing the bigger picture.
- You bring strong reporting discipline and technical judgment, while staying pragmatic and business-minded.
- You hold an uncompromising standard for quality — and get there without friction.
- You're proactive and resourceful, comfortable engaging unfamiliar stakeholders to move work forward.
- You communicate clearly and build trust without an aggressive style.
- You develop people deliberately and address performance directly, constructively, and fairly.
- You bring credibility and maturity to conversations with senior leaders, auditors, and the C-suite.
If you are a public company financial reporting leader who wants more than a steady-state mandate, this is an opportunity to build, improve and shape a function with meaningful autonomy, visibility and impact. Don't wait and apply in confidence.
