The Director, People & Culture partners with leaders and employees to deliver practical people solutions, strengthen manager capability, support a respectful workplace, and ensure HR practices align with Quebec employment requirements.

Our Director, People & Culture is a hands-on leader responsible for supporting day-to-day human resources operations at a Quebec manufacturing site. This role partners closely with site leadership and the broader People & Culture team to lead employee relations, workplace investigations, recruitment, onboarding, policy administration, performance support, and compliance with applicable Quebec and Canadian employment requirements. The role requires sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to lead through change while maintaining trust, consistency, and a high standard of employee experience.

The successful candidate brings a practical approach, strong communication skills, and experience supporting both hourly and salaried employee populations in a fast-paced operating environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary HR partner for site leaders and employees on day-to-day people matters, providing practical guidance that balances employee experience, operational needs, and risk management.

Lead employee relations matters, including coaching, conflict resolution, workplace concerns, investigations, and documentation, with a focus on fairness, consistency, and timely resolution.

Support a respectful, safe, and inclusive workplace by helping prevent and address psychological or sexual harassment and by reinforcing related policies and reporting processes.

Partner with managers on performance management, attendance, conduct, corrective action, and development conversations in line with company policy and applicable Quebec requirements.





Manage recruitment and selection activities for site-based roles, including intake, posting, interviewing support, candidate management, and onboarding coordination.

Oversee onboarding and other key employee lifecycle processes to help employees integrate quickly, understand expectations, and succeed in their roles.

Review, implement, and maintain HR policies, practices, letters, and documentation to support consistency, clarity, and legal compliance in Quebec.

Maintain working knowledge of Quebec employment standards and advise leaders on HR practices related to working conditions, statutory leaves, notice obligations, documentation, and employee communications.

Support organizational and workforce changes with professionalism, discretion, and strong execution, including planning, communication support, manage coaching, and employee follow-up.

Partner with payroll, benefits, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate employee data, timely issue resolution, and reliable HR administration.

Track HR trends and site issues, identify root causes, and recommend actions to improve employee relations, manage effectiveness, and operational stability.

Help ensure HR documents and employee-facing communications are appropriate for Quebec, including French-language considerations where required. KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY & SKILLS Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.

7–10 years of progressive HR experience, with meaningful responsibility in employee relations and manager support.

Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, distribution,



or other operational environment with both hourly and salaried employees strongly preferred.

Strong working knowledge of Quebec employment standards and workplace practices, including employer obligations relating to notice of termination, statutory leaves, and psychological harassment prevention and response.

Demonstrated experience conducting or supporting workplace investigations and resolving sensitive employee issues with discretion and sound judgment.

Solid communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and support leaders at multiple levels of the organization.

Ability to work effectively through ambiguity, competing priorities, and periods of organizational change.

High attention to detail and strong documentation skills.

Fluent in both Quebec French and English.

CRHA/CRIA designation or equivalent HR credentials are an asset.
