The Organizational
Effectiveness and Well-Being (OEWB) team partners with leaders, teams and departments across the University to strengthen organizational effectiveness and employee well-being. The team helps improve how work is organized, led and experienced by integrating expertise in leadership development, learning, change enablement, team effectiveness, organizational development, employee well-being and disability management. OEWB supports the University in building the capability, culture and conditions needed for individuals, teams and the institution to learn, adapt and thrive. The team administers the University's Disability Support Program by liaising with internal partner , insurance carriers and the WSIB, processing and case managing WSIB, short- and long-term disability claims and developing work accommodation plans to facilitate the early and safe return to work of injured or ill workers. Under the direction of the Director, Organizational Effectiveness and Well-Being and in consultation with managers and professional staff across the portfolio, the Disability Support Coordinator provides employee well-being support, administrative leadership, operational coordination, systems and data stewardship,
and stakeholder engagement across Organizational Effectiveness and Well-Being programs and services. The role supports the delivery, measurement and continuous improvement of employee experiences, well-being, and disability support, initiatives. The role serves as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, coordinates operational processes, administers systems and reporting activities, supports communications and engagement efforts, and contributes to a positive and responsive client experience across the portfolio.
Education:
Post-secondary degree in a relevant field. Note: Position requires verification of degree(s)/credential(s).
Experience:
Three (3) years of related experience in human resources, employee development, well-being and disability support. organizational effectiveness, program administration, client service or a related field.
Experience administering systems, coordinating programs, producing reports, managing confidential information and supporting multiple stakeholders is required.
Experience in a unionized setting and supporting organizational initiatives involving multiple stakeholder groups.
Skills:
Knowledge of administrative practices, program coordination and client service principles in a complex organizational environment.
Knowledge of employee well-being,
organizational effectiveness, learning and development, or disability support functions.
Working knowledge of accommodation, return-to-work and disability support principles.
Knowledge of data management, reporting practices and enterprise information systems.
Knowledge of communication, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement practices.
Familiarity with collective agreements, privacy requirements, University policies and applicable legislation.
Effective communication and presentation skills including the ability to explain and apply corporate policy and procedures and collective agreement provisions effectively.
Effective and highly collaborative interpersonal skills, including listening and questioning skills, and the ability to build rapport across the institution while quickly and confidently gaining respect of others.
Ability to effectively build relationships, negotiate and influence, and manage change in a complex environment.
Effective planning, project management and organizational skills with ability to multi-task and comprehend new information quickly and balance priorities.
Ability to exercise good judgment, initiative, and maintain confidentiality.
Able to apply cross-cultural sensitivity to work effectively with diverse groups of staff and students.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, claims management software and relational database systems (PeopleSoft).
Able to adapt to change, new ideas, technology, and practices.
