**Role Description<
/strong>
This full-time or part-time Guide role is an in office position located in Calgary, AB. The Guide will plan and deliver age-appropriate, learner-centered activities that support cognitive, social, emotional, academic, and physical development. Daily responsibilities include creating engaging learning experiences, facilitating play-based exploration, observing and documenting children’s progress, and maintaining a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
The role involves collaborating with colleagues, communicating regularly with families, and aligning classroom practices with X School’s neuroscience-informed and human-skills-focused educational philosophy.
The educator will also participate in team meetings, professional development, and school events as needed.
Qualifications
- A love for working with children.
- A belief in life-long learning and learning for life.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Asset - Knowledge of early childhood development.
- Creativity skills for designing engaging, play-based learning activities that support curiosity and exploration.
- Entrepreneurial skills and/or experiences.
- Organization skills for planning lessons, managing routines, and maintaining accurate documentation and records.
- Relevant early childhood education certification, diploma, or degree.
- Commitment to learner-centered, inclusive practices and an interest in neuroscience-informed and future-focused education.
- CPR/First Aid certification and familiarity with health, safety, and child protection standards (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience with innovative or alternative education models is beneficial.**
