The Saskatoon Sexual Assault & Information Centre is looking for a compassionate and knowledgeable individual to join our Education & Outreach team as a Program Assistant.
Education & Experience
- Currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Social Work, psychology or related field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Program Assistant or Facilitator for Im the Boss of Me is an asset.
- Experience in the areas of public and professional education, and communications, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- Experience in navigating professional and stakeholder relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in the delivery of Im the Boss of Me & No is a Full Sentence, Child Sexual Abuse Education & Prevention Programs
- Data collection and report writing.
- Assists in the delivery of Supporting Survivors of Sexualized Violence Training, delivery and production of Online Learning Workshop Series, delivery of Pamphlet & Resource Distribution, delivery of Information Fairs and Booths in the community.
- Assists in the development of SSAIC Sexualized Violence Awareness Month / Week
- Ensures compliance with SSAIC policies and procedures as well as any applicable legislation
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent interpersonal, time management, problem solving, and organizational skills;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to write and create materials for a wide variety of audiences, for a variety of purposes, using a multitude of mediums;
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting and meet deadlines while working on diverse projects at the same time;
- Demonstrated understanding of anti-oppressive, feminist, trauma-informed, and survivor-centered theories and frameworks and services; Knowledge of child sexual abuse.
- Proficiency in the use and application software applications such as Google Suite products, Microsoft products, and web-based programs are essential.
