What Is the “Intermediate Plateau”?

If you’ve reached a point where you understand most English, but your progress seems to have stalled, you may be experiencing the “Intermediate Plateau.” We’re here to help you break that cycle.

Many intermediate English learners can communicate reasonably well but find that traditional classes, vocabulary apps, and studying on their own doesn’t lead to more improvement. They need something different: more opportunities to use natural English in real conversations with native English speakers.

That’s where Marie Claire ESL comes in.

Our goal is to help intermediate English learners make true progress through live English immersion . Instead of learning in isolation, students can participate in a supportive community where they can regularly listen, speak, interact, and build confidence in a supportive and fun group setting.

Our online Book Clubs, Movie Clubs, and Conversation Circles create that environment while allowing learners to connect with other people who are working toward the same goal. It’s not only effective over time—it’s FUN!

What You’ll Do

As a Student Ambassador , you’ll:

- Share Marie Claire ESL’s online Book Clubs, Movie Clubs, and Conversation Circles with people in your community.
- Help fellow English learners find a friendly, welcoming environment where they can practise real-world English with native English speakers .




- Help people who are stuck on the “ Intermediate Plateau” discover a more immersive way to keep progressing.
- Receive a referral commission when someone registers using your unique referral code.
- Work around your existing schedule.
- Build connections and help other English learners become more confident communicators.

No professional sales experience is required. This is a simple, single-level referral program , and we believe community referrals should be straightforward and transparent:

- You earn commissions from your direct referrals
- No downlines or recruitment tiers
- No team-building requirements
- No fee to become an Ambassador
- No products or inventory to purchase
- Flexible, non-exclusive independent-contractor arrangement

You may be a good fit if you:
- Are an English learner/student —not a tutor or teacher
- Live in Alberta, Canada
- Have intermediate (CEFR B1–B2 / CLB 5–8) English proficiency
- Want to continue improving your own English
- Enjoy meeting people and helping others
- Have friends, colleagues, classmates, or community connections who may want to improve their English
- Are legally authorized to perform this type of work in Canada
