Exploitation Engineer

Spartan is seeking an individual to fulfill the responsibilities of an Exploitation Engineer on our Duvernay team. This role is primarily responsible for developing and delivering the Company’s capital and operating plan as well as evaluating strategic A&D; opportunities. This is a full-time, in-office position based in our downtown Calgary location.

What You Will Do Provide input and analysis on capital allocation decisions

Corporate capital budget forecasting and management

Create and coordinate the execution of short- and long-term capital and operating plan

Contribute to location inventory management

Build out development plans for new growth areas and opportunities on existing land base

Run sensitivities on different deal structures with respect to swaps, poolings, etc.

Assist with corporate reserves and oversee reserves for assigned assets

Optimize completion and drilling strategies to enhance economics

Conduct technical evaluations for acquisition targets as assigned

Build financial models and conduct proforma analysis of corporate and asset M&A; in collaboration with the technical and commercial departments





Interact with departmental stakeholders of the corporate planning process including quarterly and annual budget preparation, data analysis, trend modelling, lookbacks, capital approval preparation and tracking, ad hoc scenario analysis, and Board material preparation Who You Are Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with APEGA membership as a Professional Engineer

10+ years of engineering experience with a strong focus on business development, exploitation and M&A;, preferably in the Duvernay and/or Montney formations

Strategic and entrepreneurial thinker

Broad financial acumen

Strong work ethic and curiosity

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience with ValNav, Aucerna Execute, Geoscout, PowerBI, Avocet and the Microsoft Office Suite
