Overview
Learning Potential is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Controller specializing in Early Childhood Services and Education to lead our financial operations. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to oversee all accounting functions, ensure financial integrity, and support the sustainable growth of our early childhood programs. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach, a passion for education finance, and expertise in managing complex financial systems to drive efficiency and compliance across our organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of financial reporting, including preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements aligned with organizational standards.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely processing and accuracy.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts using accounting software
- Supervise payroll processing to guarantee accurate and compliant employee compensation management.
- Develop and monitor budgets for various programs, providing insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Conduct account reconciliations and perform detailed account analysis to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard organizational assets and ensure compliance with financial policies.
- Collaborate with auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Participate in the selection,
implementation, and ongoing management of accounting software solutions to streamline financial operations.
Qualifications
- CPA designation completed or in progress at the advanced stage is required
- Proven experience in accounting within early childhood education or related nonprofit sectors is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Business Central, or equivalent platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, budgeting, and account reconciliation processes.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance standards applicable to educational organizations.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage deadlines and work independently
- Exceptional communication skills for clear reporting and collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.

Pay: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
