Stelvio are working with a client operating within the transportation technology sector to appoint a Director of Finance for its Safety and Enforcement division.
Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will take responsibility for the division’s financial health, strategy and accounting operations. As a senior leader, you will provide clear financial guidance, strengthen planning and analysis, and partner with executive stakeholders to support informe ddecisions and sustainable growth
.
Responsibiliti
- esLead the financial close process, including journal entries for depreciation, allocations and accrual
- s.Review the trial balance, identify discrepancies and make the necessary adjustment
- s.Analyse budget variances and review balance sheet and profit and loss accounts to ensure accurate financial statement
- s.Maintain and interpret a complete set of financial statements covering cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable and inventor
- y.Identify and assess cost-reduction opportunities across the division and wider busines
- s.Provide financial analysis to support contract negotiations and product investment decision
- s.Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, including consolidated submissions to the parent compan
- y.Produce ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholder
- s.Lead the Accounting Specialists responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, data entry and process suppor
- t.Work closely with the Manager of Project Finance and Operations Support on project accounting, resource planning, scheduling and utilisatio
- n.Manage annual project and departmental budgets in partnership with executives and senior manager
- s.Prepare additional forecasts in response to contract change
- s.Establish and monitor daily cash balances and cash-flow forecast
- s.Ensure sufficient funding is available for operational and capital requirement
- s.Plan vendor payment schedules and approve outgoing payment
- s.Prepare covenant calculations and reporting for banking partner
- s.Support new loan arrangements and facilitate existing loan
- s.Maintain banking relationships and contribute to short- and long-term liquidity forecastin
- g.Manage tax preparation and filing, including federal and state taxes completed by third-party provider
- s.Prepare and submit sales, corporate and other required tax form
- s.Act as the primary contact for the division’s insurance broker, managing policy queries, changes and renewal
- s.Arrange short- and long-term insurance policies and location permit
- s.Oversee provincial and local operating licence complianc
- e.Manage the division’s bonding arrangements, including expirations, renewals and return
- s.Advise on bonding capacity during pricing and proposal activitie
- s.Coordinate internal and external audits, providing documentation and subject-matter support for financial, banking, insurance and parent-company audit
- s.Ensure compliance with local, provincial and federal reporting obligations, tax legislation, regulatory requirements and audit standard
- s.Manage external auditor relationship
