Title: Health and Wellness Specialist- Kwakwaka’wakw Cultural Family Group

Salary: $ 70,933 - $ 85,350 per year (pay range explained below)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)

Location: Quinsam or Port Hardy, BC, located on the ancestral territories of the We Wai Kai and Kwakiutl Nations – Hybrid - Travel within the Kwakwaka’wakw territory, including to rural and remote communities, is required.

About The Role

As Kwakwaka'wakw Hub Health and Wellness Specialist, you will be a key member of a multidisciplinary and collaborative team supporting First Nations communities across the Vancouver Island Region. Rooted in a First Nations worldview,



you will provide culturally grounded, strengths-based support that empowers individuals, families, and communities. As part of the Mental Health and Wellness Team and working from a community-driven and Nation-based approach, you will build community capacity by offering guidance, coordination, and responsive services tailored to local needs.

Your focus will be on developing and coordinating community-based services in partnership with Nations, while also offering support and consultation to leadership, Health Leads, community staff, and partners, including navigating external systems and resources, facilitating referrals, delivering workshops and presentations, and providing crisis stabilization.

About You

Education

- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an approved post-secondary institution.
- Current valid B.C. driver’s license and willing to submit a drivers abstract

Occupational Certification

- Current practicing registration and in good standing with the BC College of Social Workers..

Experience

- 5 to 7 years of recent, related experience in health care setting

The Pay Range is the minimum (Step 1) and maximum (highest Step) annual base salary based on full time equivalent hours.
