We are seeking a friendly, professional Host/Hostess to join our dynamic hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. The Host/Hostess will be responsible for managing reservations, greeting guests, and coordinating seating arrangements to enhance the overall dining experience. This is for our downtown location.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to ensure efficient flow of the dining area
- Manage reservations and waitlists accurately using POS systems such as TouchBistro and OpenTable platforms
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries promptly and professionally
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand, ensuring all materials are stocked and presentable
- Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff regarding guest needs and seating times
- Handle phone inquiries with proper phone etiquette, providing information about the restaurant and reservation policies
- Assist with maintaining a welcoming environment that reflects our commitment to hospitality and guest satisfaction
- Support other team members as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Robust communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse guests in a friendly manner
- Knowledge of restaurant POS systems is a plus; familiarity with food service industry is advantageous
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are essential
- Ability to work in a rapid-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed in a hospitality setting
