The Learning team supports NB Power’s current and future business needs by developing learning strategies that help employees grow, succeed, and contribute to the organization’s goals. Through collaboration and continuous improvement, we create learning experiences that build skills, support productivity, and foster positive employee experience. As a Learning Solutions Specialist, you will serve as a learning and development expert, partnering with leaders, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning solutions that support business objectives.

You will provide day-to-day leadership and supervision, coaching, and mentoring to Instructional Designers and Instructors/Facilitators, lead medium to large-scale learning initiatives, and provide guidance on learning and development best practices. By helping to plan and prioritize work, oversee project schedules and timelines, and drive continuous improvement, you will play a key role in shaping learning strategies that help employees thrive and contribute to organizational success. Key functions include:

Performing independent research on new learning and development methods, practices, programs and/or products

Collaborating to ensure the designed solutions not only meet the learner and business requirements,



but are also aligned with and support progress of the organization’s cultural objectives and values

Leading and inspiring the team to achieve high levels of performance while modelling the behaviors and attitudes expected. Our ideal teammate will have:

A bachelor's degree or diploma in Adult Learning/Education, Instructional Design or a related discipline

Six years of instructional design experience. (candidates with a diploma will require an additional two years of experience)

Six years working in a project/initiative environment (setting and following workplans and schedules to achieve desired goals)

Two or more years’ experience leading cross-functional teams

Advanced knowledge of learning and development methodology processes, and standards such as Analysis, Design Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE)

Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, working in a Microsoft Teams and SharePoint environment

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Facilitation, presentation and coaching skills

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Preference will be given to those who have worked with Learning Management Systems (LMS) to publish content. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
