HR Manager (12-Month Contract)

We’re seeking an HR Manager to join the People & Culture team at PointsBet Canada on a 12-month contract, with strong potential to convert to a permanent, full-time role. This position is focused on day-to-day people operations supporting the employee lifecycle, resolving day-to-day HR queries, and keeping core people processes running smoothly while also partnering closely with our global People & Culture colleagues across Canada, Australia, and Japan to help deliver on broader organizational priorities. You’ll work closely with cross-regional stakeholders to ensure a consistent, high-quality employee experience.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

Key Highlights of This Role

- Lead the implementation of our new HRIS system, Employment Hero, for PointsBet Canada from setup and data migration through to rollout and employee adoption.
- Assist in getting our new office space set up, supporting logistics and coordination as part of the broader move.
- Play a key role in building out the Alberta team, supporting hiring,



onboarding, and early team formation as PointsBet launches in the Alberta market.

Daily People Operations

- Act as a first point of contact for employees on day-to-day HR queries from onboarding and benefits to policy interpretation and general people matters.
- Support the end-to-end employee lifecycle onboarding, probation check-ins, internal moves, and offboarding ensuring a consistent and positive experience at every stage.
- Prepare and maintain HR documentation, including offer letters, contracts, and role-change letters, in line with Ontario and Alberta employment standards.
- Track and report on key people metrics (e.g., turnover, time-to-hire, headcount) to support data-informed decision-making.

Global Team Collaboration

- Partner with People & Culture colleagues across Canada and Australia and Japan to align on shared frameworks, policies, and ways of working.
- Join and contribute to cross-regional working sessions, sharing local context and surfacing risks or opportunities specific to the Canadian and Alberta market.

Employee Relations & Compliance

- Support the resolution of day-to-day employee relations matters, escalating complex cases appropriately.
- Help ensure HR practices align with Ontario and Alberta employment legislation (ESA, Ontario Human Rights Code, AODA) and internal policy.
- Assist with maintaining job descriptions, organizational structure documentation, and related governance materials (e.g., compliance).

Culture & Engagement

- Support employee engagement initiatives, including ERG programming and internal communications that build community across the team.
- Help coordinate logistics and content for Town Halls, team events, and recognition programs.
- Contribute to engagement survey action planning, helping translate employee feedback into tangible improvements.

WHAT YOU BRING

Experience & Skills

- 5 years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Manager capacity, ideally within a dynamic, multi-jurisdictional, or global organization.
- Working knowledge of Ontario and/or Alberta employment legislation; experience in a regulated industry (iGaming, financial services, or similar) is an asset.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms; familiarity with Employment Hero is a plus.




- Comfortable operating across time zones and collaborating with global stakeholders.

CONTRACT TERM

- This is a 12-month contract position with strong potential to transition to a full-time, permanent role based on performance and business need.

COMPENSATION

- $100,000 - $105,000 plus competitive bonus
