Position
Overview
Location: Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta
Shift: 10 days on / 4 days off
Hours: 10 hours per day
We are currently seeking an experienced and dependable Industrial Civil Earthworks Labourer to join our team working on industrial civil construction projects in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
The successful candidate will work as part of a civil earthworks crew and assist with excavation, underground utility work, site preparation, backfilling, and general civil construction activities. This position requires a strong work ethic, good communication skills, attention to safety, and the ability to work effectively around heavy equipment. Key Responsibilities
Spot and guide mobile and powered equipment safely around active work areas
Assist equipment operators with excavation, grading, trenching, and backfilling activities
Perform manual shoveling, raking, grading, and packing
Use a laser level to assist with elevations, grades,
and site layout
Assist with the installation and removal of shoring boxes
Assist with trenching, underground utility installation, and civil earthworks
Perform general labour duties associated with industrial civil construction
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Follow all company, client, and site-specific safety procedures
Work safely around heavy equipment, excavations, underground utilities, and other construction hazards
Communicate effectively with equipment operators, supervisors, and other crew members Required Safety Tickets
Candidates must have the following current safety tickets/certifications:
H2S Alive
First Aid Level C
Ground Disturbance
WHMIS
CSTS Qualifications & Skills
Previous experience in industrial civil earthworks is preferred
Experience working around heavy equipment and active excavation sites
Knowledge of proper equipment spotting procedures
Comfortable performing physically demanding manual labour
Ability to shovel, rake, pack, and perform other general civil construction duties
Basic understanding of grades and elevations;
experience using a laser level is an asset
Experience with shoring boxes and trench safety is an asset
Strong safety awareness and ability to follow direction
Reliable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team
Valid driver's license and transportation is a must What We Offer
