Position #: 201102 Expected Start Date: Union: HSAS Facility: Rosthern Hospital City/Town: Rosthern Department: Infection Prevention and Control Type: Part-time regular FTE: 0.82 Shift Information: Days Number of Hours per Rotation: 23 shifts of 8 hours per 6 weeks Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: Standard Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Infection Control Practitioner $44.356 to $53.2 Travel Required: Yes : Accountable to the Manager, the Infection Control Practitioner is responsible for providing infection prevention and control related services within the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) integrated service areas by supporting implementation and maintenance of an effective Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) program, providing training and education related to IPAC and infectious diseases, and by consulting on matters related to IPAC as an expert resource. The incumbent will participate in quality improvement or research activities as needed within the SHA. Collective Agreement" Human Resources Exemption: No Education Degree in Nursing or relevant Health Sciences Degree acceptable to the Employer Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Other Education and Training Infection Control Course Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge to identify, investigate & control outbreaks of infectious diseases Ability to communicate components of infection control to staff and patients Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite Demonstrates effective leadership and management skills Knowledge of microbiology & infectious disease Knowledge of & able to utilize, principles of program development & teaching Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
