About the Role
Web4You Inc. is developing advanced Canadian uncrewed aerial systems for public-safety, industrial and defence-related applications. We are seeking a hands-on UAV Assembly and Electronics Technician to support prototype development, system integration, testing and small-batch production. This position is suitable for an experienced technician or a highly motivated recent graduate or postgraduate student in electronics, mechatronics, aerospace, robotics or a related discipline.
The successful candidate will work closely with our UAV pilot and Engineering team. This is a practical workshop position requiring accuracy, patience, strong troubleshooting ability and careful documentation. Responsibilities
Assemble UAV mechanical, electrical and electronic components according to drawings, instructions and bills of materials
Install and connect motors, electronic speed controllers, flight controllers, communication equipment, sensors and related components
Build, inspect and organize wiring harnesses, connectors and electronic assemblies
Perform soldering, crimping, continuity testing and basic electrical measurements
Configure hardware and load approved firmware and system settings
Conduct pre-power, ground and functional inspections using established checklists
Assist the UAV pilot and engineers with ground testing and controlled flight-test preparation
Identify assembly problems, component defects and documentation gaps
Record component serial numbers, configuration versions, test results and rework
Maintain accurate build records for every aircraft
Follow engineering-change, quality-control and workplace-safety procedures
Maintain tools, equipment, parts and an organized assembly area
Communicate directly with engineers to resolve technical questions
Support continuous improvement of assembly instructions and production processes Required Qualifications
Diploma, degree or postgraduate education in electronics, electrical engineering technology, mechatronics,
robotics, aerospace, avionics or a related field
Practical experience assembling electronic or electromechanical systems
Soldering, wiring, connector and crimping skills
Ability to read wiring diagrams, technical drawings and assembly instructions
Familiarity with multimeters and standard electronic test equipment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation
Ability to diagnose problems systematically and communicate findings clearly
Ability to work independently while following approved procedures
Ability to work primarily on-site Preferred Qualifications
Experience building, maintaining or repairing UAVs, RC aircraft or robotic systems
Familiarity with flight controllers and UAV configuration software
Experience with PX4, ArduPilot, INAV or similar platforms
Experience with CAD files, 3D-printed components or composite structures
Experience with lithium battery systems and safe battery-handling procedures
Familiarity with inventory control, BOM management or small-batch production
Experience in aerospace, automotive, robotics, electronics manufacturing or another quality-controlled workplace
Transport Canada drone pilot certification is an asset but not required What We Are Looking For: The ideal candidate is:
