Duties
- Assist customers in choosing eyewear that suits their style, needs, and prescription requirements
- Measure, fit, and adjust eyeglasses to ensure optimal comfort and functionality
- Verify prescriptions using optical equipment and ensure accuracy before dispensing
- Maintain detailed records of customer prescriptions, fittings, and sales transactions
- Provide guidance on lens options, coatings, and frame selections to maximize customer satisfaction
- Conduct laboratory work such as lens ordering, processing, and quality control to ensure precision
- Collaborate with the retail team to promote optical products and drive sales through excellent service
- Use electronic health record systems like Epic to document patient interactions and manage appointments efficiently
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Optician with comprehensive knowledge of optical practices
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to eye health and vision care
- Prior experience working in optical retail or laboratory environments is highly desirable
- Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a retail or healthcare setting
- Familiarity with optical equipment, lens fabrication processes, and laboratory procedures
- Experience with retail sales techniques and managing sales transactions effectively
- Knowledge of Epic or similar electronic health record systems is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
