DINING ROOM MANAGER

Casa Donato – Toronto

Casa Donato is a new hospitality destination coming to Toronto, created by experienced Montreal restaurateurs. Bringing together three distinct concepts under one roof — a restaurant, bar, and café — Casa Donato is built around quality, hospitality, and a strong sense of community.

As we prepare for the opening of our restaurant concept, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Dining Room Manager to lead our front-of-house operations and help establish an exceptional standard of service from day one.

THE ROLE The Dining Room Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the dining room, with a strong focus on guest experience, service standards, team leadership, and smooth execution during service.

Working closely with the General Manager and ownership, you will lead the front-of-house restaurant team and ensure that every detail of the dining experience reflects the standards and vision of Casa Donato.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who is highly present on the floor, comfortable leading a team during busy services, and passionate about creating a polished, warm, and memorable guest experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Oversee daily dining room operations and service
- Lead, supervise, and motivate the front-of-house restaurant team
- Maintain high standards of hospitality, service, presentation, and professionalism
- Be actively present on the floor throughout service
- Train and coach servers, hosts, and support staff




- Establish and maintain consistent service standards and sequence of service
- Manage floor plans, reservations, table flow, and overall guest experience
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities
- Handle guest feedback and resolve service issues professionally
- Assist with employee scheduling and staffing needs
- Work closely with the kitchen and culinary team to ensure smooth communication between front and back of house
- Maintain solid knowledge of the food, wine, and beverage menus
- Support wine service standards and ensure the team is knowledgeable and confident when presenting the wine list
- Support inventory and operational controls related to the dining room
- Ensure opening and closing procedures are properly followed
- Collaborate closely with the General Manager, ownership, and other Casa Donato departments
- Help establish systems, standards, and culture as part of the opening team

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- Previous restaurant management or strong supervisory experience
- Experience in an elevated, high-service restaurant environment preferred
- Strong understanding of dining room operations and hospitality
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong attention to detail and presentation




- Confident and professional communication style
- Ability to remain organized and composed during high-volume services
- Strong guest relations and problem-solving skills
- Valuable knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service
- Sommelier certification or a strong background in wine is a major asset, but not required
- Ability to confidently guide guests through wine selections and pairings is a strong asset
- Hands-on leadership style and willingness to support the team wherever needed
- Experience with restaurant openings is an asset
- Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
