Join BC Ferries as a Marine Welder, where you will play a crucial role in supporting our vessels and facilities. This casual fixed-term role involves advanced welding and fabrication tasks in a dynamic marine environment. Reporting to the Trades Supervisor, you will execute detailed planning, perform welding set-up, and coordinate with other trades.
Your contributions will be vital in ensuring the safety and integrity of critical marine infrastructure. With a strong emphasis on teamwork and leadership, you will also guide apprentices and helpers in their work while managing safety protocols. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan work by creating precise sketches and calculating measurements
- Handle welding set-up, fabrication, and equipment preparation
- Travel to off-site locations and manage transporting equipment
- Lead current employees and provide feedback for their development
- Complete necessary paperwork and maintain tools and workspace Requirements:
- A Level Welding Certificate and 3+ years experience
- 1 year fabrication experience preferably in marine settings
- All position CWB certification is an asset
- Valid BC driver’s license for fleet travel
