Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Nurse specializing in vaccination to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for administering vaccines, providing patient education, and ensuring a safe and efficient vaccination process across various settings. Responsibilities
- Administer vaccines accurately and efficiently to patients of all ages, including pediatrics and senior populations.
- Assess patient eligibility for vaccination, review medical histories, and address any concerns or contraindications.
- Maintain detailed documentation of vaccinations administered using electronic health record systems such as Epic and Cerner.
- Educate patients about vaccine advantages, potential side effects, and post-vaccination care instructions.
- Follow strict infection control protocols, including proper disposal of sharps and sanitization procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care, case management, and follow-up appointments.
- Monitor patients during and after vaccination for adverse reactions, ready to respond promptly if needed.
Experience
- Proven experience working in hospital or acute care settings with a strong background in patient care and nursing responsibilities.
- Prior experience with immunization programs, including familiarity with vaccine storage, handling, and administration techniques.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and laboratory procedures such as phlebotomy.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, seniors, dementia care patients, and those requiring home or assisted living care.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records systems like Epic or Cerner is highly desirable.
- Background in pain management, laboratory work, or medical office environments is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively about medical procedures and foster patient trust through compassionate care.
