Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Wage Range: $28.80 - $29.69 per hour (Start rate non-negotiable.)
Shifts: 0730-1530 Monday-Friday
Status: Permanent Full-Time

Responsibilities
- Ordering food and other required nutrition items for the Toronto Western Nutrition Department
- Filling nutrition orders for multiple areas, applying “First in First out” system when removing items from locations and bin numbers
- Delivering orders to designated locations, as per established schedules, unloading and putting items in designated location
- Receiving and storing incoming goods, following safety precautions, matching received goods with purchase requisitions generated from FMS
- Performing inventory control duties
- Working in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies and contravention’s of the Act, in a timely manner
- Performing cross-functional duties as assigned and/or required
- Performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned and/or required, including, assisting with staff orientation, etc.
Qualifications
- At minimum, completion of high school or recognized equivalent;
- Food Handler Certificate, required (documentation to be provided within 60 days of hire);
- 3-6 months practical and related experience and/or 1-3 months on the job training;
- Must be able to understand verbal work orders and instructions;
- Must be able to read/understand short notes, brief forms to read invoices, orders and memos;
- Ability to do simple mathematical calculations (e.g., adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, etc.);
- Understanding of stock rotation;
- Ability to input and check orders using a computerized system;
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job: able to lift up to 5 kg, loading, and unloading food trucks; pushing heavy food trucks during pick up and delivery of meals;
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards;
- Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task;
- Compliance with confidentiality requirements under UHN Privacy Policy;
- Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills;
- Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies;
- Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand;
- Food Service Worker Certificate, an asset;
