Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Paediatric Occupational Therapist role based in Markham, ON. We are looking for an occupational therapist with a minimum of 2 days per week availability, with potential for additional hours if desired. Hours are flexible; however, we ask for at least one after-school and one weekend availability.
The Paediatric Occupational Therapist will provide assessment and intervention for children with a variety of developmental, motor, sensory, and feeding needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting initial assessments, creating individualized treatment plans, delivering one-on-one therapy sessions, and monitoring progress toward functional goals. The role involves regular collaboration with families to set priorities,
provide education and home programming, and communicate clearly about the child’s development.
The therapist will also work with other professionals as needed, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and contribute to a welcoming, child-friendly therapeutic setting.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Occupational Therapy , including assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based intervention for children.
- Knowledge and experience in Rehabilitation , supporting children in developing functional skills for daily activities at home, school, and in the community.
- Excellent Communication skills for collaborating with children, families, and interdisciplinary teams, and for providing clear education and guidance.
- Demonstrated expertise in Paediatrics , with an understanding of typical and atypical development and family-centered care.
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure to practice Occupational Therapy in Ontario.
- Experience working in paediatric clinical or school-based settings is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work collaboratively, manage a caseload, and maintain accurate, timely clinical records.
- Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory practice and supporting children of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
