Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. Responsibilities

- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with educational standards and individual student needs.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and social-emotional development.
- Monitor and assess each child's progress, maintaining detailed records of developmental milestones.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and any concerns.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities, share best practices, and ensure a cohesive educational approach.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized assistance.
- Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety standards at all times.
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communicating with families through digital platforms.




- Demonstrate leadership by guiding assistant staff or interns when applicable and contributing to team meetings.

Requirements

- Must have level 1, or level 2 ECE Nova Scotia classification. First-aid, child abuse registration certificate, vulnerable sector check.
- Salary will follow Nova Scotia’s Early Childhood Educator (ECE) classification system (Levels 1–3).
- Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting; classroom experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is highly desirable.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal—to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently within time constraints.
- Ability to operate basic computer applications for documentation and communication purposes.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and strong time management skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $25.00-$28.60 per hour
