Position Title – RQ11551 - Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Position Overview A Successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive testing strategies, test plans, test cases, test data, and testing artifacts across functional and non-functional testing environments. The role will work closely with IT leads, developers, Business Analysts, project teams, and business stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

The resource will also support Microsoft Dynamics CRM, BI products, and end-to-end ETL testing, with a solid focus on data validation, integration, regression, performance, accessibility, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide expertise and recommendations on testing strategies, test plans, testing tools, and testing resource requirements.
- Plan, organize, and execute testing activities for large-scale systems across both GUI and non-GUI environments.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scripts, test scenarios, test data, test results, defect reports, and test execution reports.
- Perform testing across various levels and types, including:

- Perform hands-on testing of Microsoft Dynamics CRM solutions .
- Conduct end-to-end testing of BI products and ETL processes .
- Analyze and validate data for completeness, accuracy, integrity, redundancy, formatting, functional scenarios, and integration workflows.
- Perform source-to-target data comparisons using SQL, programming techniques, or appropriate testing tools.
- Prepare comprehensive test data covering a broad range of business scenarios and test conditions.
- Manage testing artifacts and the testing lifecycle using Azure DevOps .




- Communicate test results through automated reports, dashboards, testing metrics, and defect summaries.
- Provide regular testing and defect status updates during daily Scrum meetings and project team meetings.
- Support business users and stakeholders during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
- Participate in business requirements workshops, sprint reviews, walkthroughs, and stakeholder meetings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout Agile and iterative development lifecycles.
- Investigate application defects, perform root cause analysis, and work with Developers and Business Analysts to determine appropriate resolutions.
- Identify and document defects, quality issues, and process improvements.
- Support automation initiatives and identify opportunities where automation can improve testing efficiency and workflows.
- Provide daily status reports and ensure assigned deliverables and milestones are completed within established timelines.
- Prepare and facilitate knowledge transfer sessions and documentation for client staff.
- Ensure compliance with Ontario Government I⁢ directives, standards, security procedures, operational policies, and applicable guidelines.

Required Qualifications Manual Testing & QA

- 3+ years of hands-on experience testing Microsoft Dynamics CRM solutions.
- 8+ years of experience developing testing strategies, test plans, comprehensive test cases, scenarios, and scripts for manual testing.
- 8+ years of experience preparing test data covering comprehensive test scenarios.
- 8+ years of experience testing non-functional requirements, including:
- Failover
- Component response times

- 8+ years of web-based system testing and QA experience across:
- Integration Testing

- Regression Testing
- Functional Testing

BI, Dashboard & ETL Testing

- 5+ years of hands-on experience testing BI products and performing end-to-end ETL testing.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience performing data analysis, validation, and source-to-target comparison for BI solutions.

Agile Delivery & General Skills

- Experience working with Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps for managing testing artifacts and the testing lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) .

Desirable Skills

- Knowledge of at least one programming language.
- Experience using information retrieval and data query packages.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies within object-oriented environments.
- Understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
- Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) requirements and standards.
- Experience planning and organizing testing for both large and small systems.
- Experience coding automated test scripts and developing automated test cases.
- Experience testing Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications.
- Experience with DevOps methodologies.
- Experience testing ETL processes, BI/Power BI products, and web-based applications.
- Experience testing COTS CRM solutions such as Microsoft Dynamics.
- Experience identifying and documenting defects and quality issues.
- Experience installing applications and databases relevant to automation.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and workflow improvement.
- Experience gathering and documenting end-user requirements to develop effective automation solutions.
