Flying Dust First Nation is currently seeking a motivated and qualified individual to join our Administration Division as a Front Desk Receptionist. This position plays a key role in providing reception and clerical support to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the Administration office.
The Front Desk
Receptionist is responsible for delivering welcoming, efficient, and confidential front-line service. Duties include greeting and directing visitors, managing incoming calls and correspondence, coordinating appointments and meeting spaces, and administering Flying Dust cheques as required.
Key Duties
- Respond to telephone, email, and in-person inquiries from clients, partners, and community members
- Direct inquiries to appropriate staff, departments, or divisions
- Record and distribute telephone, email, and written messages accurately
- Receive, process, and distribute incoming correspondence and over-the-counter documents
- Present a positive, professional image as the first point of contact for visitors, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Implement emergency evacuation procedures when required
- Accept and monitor incoming deliveries and shipments
- Maintain staff itineraries and remain informed of staff movements within and outside the office
- Provide backup support to the Files Clerk/Office Admin Support Manager as needed, including use of MS Office programs
- Assist with organizing and supporting special events
- Work effectively under pressure, demonstrating sound judgment, flexibility, and reliability
- Always maintain strict confidentiality
Qualifications
- Grade 12 Diploma and/or a certificate or diploma in clerical or office administration
- Knowledge and understanding of First Nation culture and values
- Strong understanding of general office procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional presentation and exceptional customer service skills
