Research Opportunities in Seed Science, Restoration Ecology, and Plant Biotechnology Research Associate • Postdoctoral Fellow • MSc & PhD Positions Gosling Research Institute for Plant Preservation (GRIPP)

Department of Plant Agriculture, University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada The Gosling Research Institute for Plant Preservation (GRIPP) at the University of Guelph invites applications for Research Associate, Postdoctoral Fellow, MSc, and PhD positions in a newly funded NSERC Alliance project, Seeds and Society: A Community-Based Model for Native Plant Restoration in Canada. This exciting multidisciplinary initiative brings together university researchers, Indigenous partners, conservation organizations, botanical gardens, government agencies, and community groups to develop innovative approaches for native seed conservation, propagation, and ecological restoration. The project aims to establish a national framework for the sustainable recovery of Canada's native plant biodiversity.

Successful candidates will contribute to research in seed biology and physiology, conservation and seed banking, native plant propagation, restoration ecology, plant biotechnology, and related areas. They will work within a collaborative research setting, publish in leading scientific journals, engage with national partners, and contribute to knowledge mobilization and biodiversity restoration initiatives. Applicants should have a strong background in Plant Biotechnology,



Plant Morphogenesis, Horticultural Science, Conservation Biology, Seed Science, Restoration Ecology, or a related discipline.

Experience in cryopreservation and phytochemistry will be considered an asset. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary research team are essential.

Research

Associate and Postdoctoral appointments are initially for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding and performance. Salaries will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. MSc and PhD students will receive financial support in accordance with University of Guelph graduate funding policies.
